Dr. Amish Desai
I became a dentist because I wanted to make a real difference in people’s lives. I loved the idea that the work of my hands could actually bring improved health and greater comfort to people: people I could continue to know and help for a lifetime.
This is the heart of Main Street Dental: We are a place where you and your family can make sure your teeth are healthy and where you are known and cared about.
My wife and two young daughters are my world. When we have a chance to be together as a family — laughing, cooking, reading or just hanging out — I often look at them and think to myself, "This is the life!" On weekends, we like to go biking on the great trails near us. We also enjoy swimming and have been taking martial arts classes together as a family.
My wife and my girls keep me grounded and are never far from my thoughts. As a dentist, one of my guiding principles is to take care of you with the same care and heart I want others to treat my family with.
I love my patients and look forward to working with you to solve dental issues and create a treatment that really works. I will explain everything clearly and carefully, so you understand your options every step of the way. Your time, your concerns, and your goals matter to me.
I started Main Street Dental in 2006 and am so grateful to see how people have enjoyed their experiences with us over the years. I love hearing patients say they feel at home at Main Street and tell their friends about the kindness and great care they receive here.
I have had the honor to develop and work with a great team. I can’t wait for you to experience for yourself how compassionate and dedicated they are!
Please let me know if you have any questions about how we can help you, or if you’d like to know more about my approach to dentistry.
I graduated with my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in 2001. In 2014, I became a fellow with the Illinois Academy of General Dentistry, and am also a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
I take continuing education courses every year because I am committed to staying at the forefront of emerging developments in dentistry: the advances that deliver even better outcomes for my patients.
At Main Street Dental, we are family-oriented and offer really personal care. We are here to get to know you and get to know your likes and dislikes. We want to work with you to develop a treatment plan that fits your needs and your current situation the best.
If you are in pain, don't have healthy gums or are scared and afraid, it can be so hard. As a hygienist, I want to help you get better, I want to see you healthy and happy. Your smile has a lot to do with how you feel about yourself.
I started working in dentistry part-time when I was still in high school and fell in love with helping people. Now, 20 years later, I know that going into the dental field has been the best decision ever. I love what I do and I just want to see you smile.
We have a son in Middle School who plays travel soccer, so we live and breathe and eat soccer in our house. We love it! We are a very outdoorsy family. We love to be outside and love to be together.

I am here to welcome you and make sure you feel comfortable and at home. I love to work with people and help answer any questions that you have. If you are not sure exactly how your insurance plan works, or where to start, I can help. I love investigating and getting down to the nitty-gritty to help you understand all of your benefits and the payment choices you might have.
I’ve been in the medical and dental field for more than 25 years. I especially like to help children and I like to help people that might come in feeling a little bit fearful because we want you to leave happy!
Dr. Desai and our team are like a family: we are here for you and truly, truly love what we do. We are down-to-earth, respectful, and we care about you. We treat you just the way we would like to be treated. I think this is what people appreciate the most about Main Street.
My husband and I love to take our whole family out to do fun things on the weekends or on vacations. I have twin boys who are in their twenties and I have a little granddaughter that I adore. We love to have new adventures and explore new places together. We also have a little Chihuahua named Max who we got from a shelter and is our other little baby.

I started working in Dentistry 11 years ago. After serving 4 years in the Army as a Military Police officer, I decided to have a career change. I finished the dental assitant course at Elgin Community college in 2008 and since loved every minute of working in the Dental field. This was truly my calling.
At Main Street Dental, we work together as a team to make sure you receive a great dental experience from the moment you walk through our doors until the moment you walk out. I love that patients can walk out of our office with a smile on their face.
On my free time I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband and I keep busy with our four kids. We enjoy traveling, playing board games as a family, going to church and spending time with our new puppy Delilah.
I love it when patients enjoy themselves when they come to us. I really love what I do and try to make you comfortable and relaxed as I get you ready to see Dr. Desai. Don’t worry if you are nervous or if this is your first time seeing us, we always try to make you feel safe and at home.
I assist the Doctor, chair-side, in all of the dental treatments that we offer. I act as a second pair of hands for him while also making sure you are content and have everything you need to relax. I have been in the dental field for over 20 years and have been at Main Street for ten years.
In my free time, I like to bake and to cook. I run a small catering business where we make beautiful cakes and great food for weddings and special occasions. My daughter is a Senior in High School. My husband and I enjoy spending time as much time as we can with her before she goes to college.
